How it’s worked out
Butlers (demon or servant) fetch planks so you build without banking — the standard fast-XP setup. Plank prices swing on the Grand Exchange, and making planks at a sawmill or with the Plank Make spell cuts the cost, so treat the total as a guide.

Quick Answer

This OSRS Construction calculator works out how many items you need to build to reach your target level: it takes the XP you still need (level 99 is 13,034,431 XP) and divides by the XP of your chosen build. For example, going from level 50 to 99 on oak larders (480 XP each) takes about 26,944 larders — 215,552 oak planks. Enter your current and target level or XP, pick a method, and add the plank price for a GP total.

How the OSRS Construction Calculator Works

Construction is trained by building the same piece of furniture over and over, each giving a fixed amount of experience. To plan a goal you only need three things: the XP you still need, the XP per build, and how many planks each build costs. This calculator uses the exact Old School RuneScape XP table, so the numbers match the game to the last point.

XP needed = XP at target level − XP at current level
Builds = XP needed ÷ XP per build, rounded up
Planks = builds × planks per build  ·  Cost = planks × plank price
OSRS Construction calculator: builds, planks and GP needed to reach a target Construction level from oak larders and mahogany tables
The calculator turns your Construction goal into the exact number of builds, planks and GP for your chosen method.

The XP curve is Jagex’s standard formula, where each level needs roughly 10% more experience than the last — so level 92 is halfway to 99 in XP terms. Level 99 is 13,034,431 XP and the maximum is 200,000,000. Because the curve is steep, the higher your current level, the more builds a goal takes.

How to Use the OSRS Construction Calculator

  1. Enter your current Construction

Type your level, or switch the box to XP and paste your exact experience for a precise result.

  2. Enter your target

Usually level 99 (13,034,431 XP), but any higher level or XP works — up to 200,000,000.

  3. Pick a training method

Choose the item you’ll build. The calculator knows its XP and plank count; the plank price fills in automatically.

  4. Set the plank price and read the plan

Grand Exchange prices change daily, so update it. You get the number of builds, total planks and GP cost.

Construction Training Methods: XP per Build

XP and plank counts from the Old School RuneScape Wiki. “XP per plank” shows how efficiently each method uses planks — mahogany tables give the most XP for the fewest planks.

A butler (or demon butler) fetches planks from the bank while you build, which is how players hit high XP rates without banking by hand. Buying planks on the Grand Exchange is the fastest but priciest route — turning your own logs into planks at a sawmill, or with the Plank Make spell, cuts the GP cost a lot.

OSRS Construction Calculator: FAQ

From level 33 (when oak larders unlock) to 99 you need 13,016,184 XP, which is about 27,118 oak larders — roughly 216,944 oak planks. From level 50 to 99 it is about 26,944 larders. Enter your exact current level or XP for your own number.

Level 99 in any Old School RuneScape skill is 13,034,431 experience. Construction from scratch (level 1 to 99) on mahogany tables is about 15,518 tables, or 93,108 mahogany planks. The XP maximum in a skill is 200,000,000.

Mahogany tables from level 52 give the most XP per plank (140), so they are the fastest for the planks used, with a butler fetching them from the bank. Oak larders (level 33) and oak dungeon doors (level 74) are cheaper per XP but slower. This calculator lets you compare the plank and GP cost of each.

From level 52 (when they become worthwhile) to 99 is about 15,370 mahogany tables — 92,220 mahogany planks. From level 1 to 99 it is about 15,518 tables. Each table gives 840 XP and uses 6 mahogany planks.

Yes — it is one of the most expensive skills, because you buy huge numbers of planks. Reaching 99 on bought mahogany planks can run to well over 100 million GP at typical prices. Making your own planks at a sawmill or with the Plank Make spell is far cheaper, at the cost of extra time.

Each level needs about 10% more XP than the one before, following Jagex’s formula. That is why the early levels fly by and level 92 is the halfway point to 99 in XP. The calculator uses the full table, so it counts only the XP between your current and target levels.
