Why Rounded Factors (1.63, 0.613) Drift by Whole Ticals
Many online converters round the viss to 1.63 kg, or use 0.613 as the kg-to-viss multiplier. Both look harmless and both are wrong enough to see on a scale. The exact multiplier is 1 ÷ 1.63293 = 0.6123963…, so at 100 kg the rounded factor reports 61.30 viss instead of 61.2396 viss — an overstatement of 6.04 ticals (about 98.6 g). In the other direction, calling 100 viss “163.0 kg” instead of 163.293 kg leaves 293 g on the table.
