Your weight-loss pace

GLP-1s already create some natural deficit through appetite suppression — most clinicians recommend moderate to protect lean mass.

During titration, focus on hitting your protein and water targets — calorie hitting will feel hard because of nausea and early-fullness. Don't force feed; use protein shakes if solid food is tough.
This calculator is for general guidance only. Always coordinate calorie targets with your prescribing physician or registered dietitian — especially if you have diabetes, kidney disease, a history of disordered eating, or are pregnant/breastfeeding.

Quick Answer

A GLP-1 calorie calculator sets your daily calorie target as TDEE minus a chosen deficit (300–750 kcal), then clips it to a medical floor — max(BMR, 1,500 kcal for men / 1,200 kcal for women) — so appetite suppression never pushes you into under-eating. It uses the Mifflin-St Jeor BMR equation and a protein-first macro split of 1.6 g of protein per kg of goal weight to protect lean muscle on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and similar medications.

How the GLP-1 calorie calculator builds your daily target — start from your TDEE, subtract a deficit without dropping below the medical floor (1,200/1,500 kcal), then split the result protein-first to protect muscle.

GLP-1 Calorie & Macro Formula

This GLP-1 calorie calculator estimates your basal metabolic rate with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, scales it by activity to a TDEE, subtracts your chosen deficit, and then clips the result to a medical floor so appetite suppression on Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro never tips you into under-eating. Macros are protein-first to defend lean muscle.

BMR = 10·weight(kg) + 6.25·height(cm) − 5·age + (men +5 / women −161)
TDEE = BMR × activity  ·  Daily target = max(TDEE − deficit, floor)
Floor = max(BMR, 1,500 kcal men / 1,200 kcal women)  ·  Protein = 1.6 g × goal weight(kg)
PaceDaily deficitApprox. weekly lossBest for
Conservative−300 kcal~0.27 kg (0.6 lb)Titration, nausea, protecting muscle
Moderate−500 kcal~0.45 kg (1.0 lb)Most people on a stable dose
Aggressive−750 kcal~0.68 kg (1.5 lb)Higher starting weight, medical supervision

How to Use the GLP-1 Calorie Calculator

  1. Enter your basics

    Pick gender and units, then add age, current weight and height. These drive the Mifflin-St Jeor BMR.

  2. Set your activity level

    Choose the option that matches your real week. Many people feel less active during titration — be honest, since over-stating activity inflates the target.

  3. Choose your pace

    Tap Conservative, Moderate or Aggressive. Moderate (−500 kcal) is the usual recommendation to protect lean mass.

  4. Personalize (optional)

    Open the panel to set your medication, dose phase and goal weight. Medication and phase only tailor the tips and label — your goal weight sets the protein target.

  5. Read your targets

    The card shows your daily calorie target, protein/carb/fat grams, predicted weekly loss, and a warning if your deficit was reduced to stay above the floor.

Worked Examples: Daily Calorie & Protein Targets

ProfileTDEEPaceDaily targetProteinWeekly loss
Woman, 38, 95 kg, 170 cm, lightly active, goal 75 kg2,285Moderate −5001,785 kcal120 g~0.45 kg
Man, 45, 110 kg, 180 cm, sedentary, goal 90 kg2,406Aggressive −7502,005 kcal*144 g~0.36 kg
Woman, 30, 80 kg, 165 cm, moderately active, goal 65 kg2,356Conservative −3002,056 kcal104 g~0.27 kg

*The man’s −750 deficit would drop him to 1,656 kcal, below his BMR floor of 2,005 kcal, so the calculator clips the target to 2,005 and his real weekly loss shrinks accordingly. This floor clip is the calculator’s core safety feature for GLP-1 users.

GLP-1 Calorie Calculator: FAQ

It enforces a medical floor of max(BMR, 1,500 kcal for men / 1,200 kcal for women). GLP-1 medications already suppress appetite, so eating below this floor risks muscle loss, gallstones, hair shedding and nutrient gaps. If your chosen deficit would cross the floor, the target is raised back up and a warning appears.

No — the brand only changes the result label and the tip shown. The calorie math is driven by your BMR, activity and chosen deficit, not by the drug. Your actual dose is set by your prescriber and is not part of the calculation.

Rapid weight loss on a GLP-1 carries a real risk of losing lean muscle along with fat. The tool targets 1.6 g of protein per kilogram of your goal weight — toward the upper end of evidence-based ranges for preserving muscle in a calorie deficit.

It uses the thermodynamic rule of about 3,500 kcal per pound (7,700 kcal per kg) applied to your effective deficit — the deficit left after any floor clipping. That is why a clipped target predicts slower loss than the pace you selected.

Yes. Choose “Not started yet — planning ahead” in the medication list to see the targets you would aim for. The calorie and macro math is identical; only the dose-phase tip changes.
